PSC Fortifies Strategic Partnerships, Hosts Key Delegations

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has reiterated its commitment to strategic collaborations and best practices following separate courtesy visits by two high-level delegations to its Corporate Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, 10th February, 2026. This was contained in a statement signed by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head, Protocol and Public Affairs, PSC Headquarters, Abuja.

The Commission first received a delegation from the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), led by its National Commissioner/CEO, Dr. Vincent Olatunji. The visit focused on the implementation of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, with Dr. Olatunji identifying the PSC as a major data processor. He emphasized the necessity of protecting sensitive personnel data from unauthorized access and pledged the NDPC’s support in training PSC staff on data privacy and protection to enhance the Commission’s capacity.

In his response, the PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), mni, thanked the NDPC and applauded its achievements under Dr. Olatunji’s leadership. He affirmed the PSC’s readiness for a stronger partnership, stating, “Data is everything,” and underscoring the critical role of data protection in fulfilling the Commission’s mandate.

Earlier, the PSC hosted a delegation from the Borno State Guidance and Counselling Board (BSGCB), led by its Chairman, Dr. Tahiru Shettima, and Executive Secretary, Professor Mohammed Abba Jemme. The delegation expressed their desire to partner with the PSC to ensure that only credible individuals with unquestionable character from Borno State are recruited into the Nigeria Police Force. They also commended the current PSC leadership for introducing notable innovations in the police recruitment process.

Chairman Argungu, on behalf of the Board, welcomed the initiative and assured the delegation of the Commission’s unwavering commitment to a merit-driven, transparent, and inclusive recruitment process. He reiterated the PSC’s dedication to building a professional, disciplined, and accountable Police Force.

These engagements underscore the PSC’s proactive approach to strengthening institutional partnerships for improved service delivery and corporate governance.
