Mahmud Adam Kambari Assumes Duty as Permanent Secretary, Pledges Collaboration and Digital Transformation

The newly posted Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mahmud Adam Kambari, has formally assumed office today, 12th March, 2026, at the Ministry’s Headquarters, Federal Secretariat Phase I, Abuja. This was contained in a statement signed by Margaret Oyinboade, Ag. Head, Press, and Public Affairs.

In his remarks, Kambari expressed his delight at being posted to the aviation sector and called for strengthened collaboration among staff to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the Ministry.

He encouraged Directors and staff to work closely with him in the discharge of their duties, noting that he operates an open-door policy that promotes inclusiveness, transparency, and teamwork.

Kambari emphasized that staff welfare remains a top priority under his leadership, assuring that all members of staff would receive their rightful benefits and entitlements in line with established regulations.

He therefore urged staff to embrace digital transformation in the operations of the Ministry, noting that the implementation of the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system and the Performance Management System (PMS) would commence soon. He pledged to work closely with the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) to ensure the successful rollout of the initiatives.

He further assured staff of his commitment to building on the solid foundations laid by his predecessor, with particular emphasis on staff development, professionalism, and institutional growth.

Speaking, the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Dr. Yakubu Adam Kofarmata described the Ministry as one endowed with highly capable and experienced personnel.

He urged management and staff to extend the same cooperation and support he enjoyed during his tenure to the new Permanent Secretary in order to sustain the progress recorded in the Ministry.

Delivering the vote of thanks, the Director, Air Traffic Management (ATM), Ahmed Tijani Muhammed expressed profound appreciation to the outgoing Permanent Secretary for his exemplary leadership and notable contributions to the development of the Ministry; while he assured the new Permanent Secretary of the full support and cooperation of the management and staff in achieving the Ministry’s mandate.

The highlight of the event was the formal signing of the handing-over and taking-over documents between the outgoing and the new Permanent Secretaries.
