The NNPC Foundation has won the CSR Champion Award (Health) 2025 in recognition of its contributions to healthcare and social impact initiatives across Nigeria.
The award, instituted by Independent Newspapers, was presented at the Silver Jubilee edition of its awards ceremony held at Eko Hotel and Suites on April 18, 2026.
The honour recognises the Foundation’s sustained efforts in improving lives through programmes spanning health, education, environmental sustainability, and access to energy.
According to the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Andy Odeh, the recognition follows several health interventions carried out by the Foundation, including free cataract screenings and surgeries that restored sight to over 6,000 Nigerians, including children born blind. Other initiatives include cancer and glaucoma treatments, medical outreaches to underserved communities, and the renovation and furnishing of three wards with 100 beds at the National Orthopaedic Hospital Igbobi.
The Foundation has also supported heart surgeries and provided dental health materials to children in special schools.
Reacting to the award, Managing Director of the Foundation, Emmanuella Arukwe, described the recognition as a validation of the organisation’s impact and the trust reposed in it by Nigerians.
“It speaks to the resilience of the communities we serve, the dedication of our team, and the strength of partnerships that have enabled us to do meaningful work in health, education, environmental sustainability and access to energy,” she said.
Arukwe also attributed the success of the Foundation’s programmes to the support of the management of NNPC Limited, noting that their backing has strengthened its capacity to deliver impactful social investments nationwide.
She added that the Foundation remains committed to expanding its interventions and improving health outcomes across the country.
The award is expected to further reinforce the Foundation’s role in driving sustainable development through targeted social investment programmes.
