The Communication Division of the ECOWAS Parliament, in collaboration with the Association of West African Legislative Correspondents (AWALCO), the official Press Corps Covering the Parliament has bade farewell to the outgoing Senior Communication Officer, Mr. Adama Savadogo. This was contained in a press statement jointly signed by Mrs. Uche Duru-Nwaotule, Chief Communication Officer, ECOWAS Parliament, and Mr. Innocent Odoh, President of AWALCO.
During a farewell meeting with Mr. Savadogo and some members of staff of the Communication Division of the Parliament, including some AWALCO members in Abuja, the Chief Communication Officer(CCO), Mrs. Uche Duru-Nwaotule expressed gratitude to Mr. Savadogo for his diligent and dedicated service to the Parliament.
She recalled the great moments shared with Mr. Savadogo, who joined the Parliament in 2019, recounted memorable times where, even under pressure, the Burkinabe had demonstrated patience, calmness, and reliability in the discharge of his duties at the Communication Division.
She urged him to have “courage irrespective of the circumstances of his departure from the Parliament” and “look forward to a better future.”
In his remarks, President of AWALCO, Mr Innocent Odoh, commended Savadogo for his commitment, his cordiality, and his sense of responsibility and urged him to remain focused in his future endeavours.
The AWALCO leader also expressed gratitude to Mrs Nwaotule for her ceaseless efforts in creating conducive working environment for staff members to showcase their talent and professional proficiency, which has become the hallmark of the success of the Communication Division.
In his reaction, Mr Savadogo, who was presented with gifts from both the Division and AWALCO, said he was overwhelmed with joy at the honour accorded him even as he assured he will remain grateful to the Parliament for giving him the opportunity to serve the prestigious institution.
