The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has alerted the public to an unauthorized breach of its official website by suspected hackers.
In a statement issued on Friday, May 15, 2026, the Agency disclosed that it has already commenced necessary technical measures to contain the breach, secure the platform, and restore normal operations.
NEMA urged members of the public to disregard any suspicious content, misleading information, unauthorized announcements, or fraudulent requests for money that may appear on the compromised website or circulated through related online channels.
The Agency warned that such information does not represent its official position and may have been posted by unauthorized persons following the cyber breach.
NEMA expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the incident and assured the public that efforts were ongoing to resolve the issue fully and strengthen the security of its digital platforms against future attacks.
The Agency also advised the public to remain vigilant and rely only on verified communication channels for official updates and emergency information.
