The Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa has lost her mother, Hajiya Fatima Binta Ladi Musa Musawa. This was contained in a statement signed by Nneka Ikem Anibeze, PhD, SA Media, and Publicity, Office of the Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy.
The statement reads: “Hajiya Fatima Binta Ladi Musa Musawa passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, after a brief illness. She was born on August 15, 1955, in Gusau, Zamfara State. Hajiya Fatima was widely respected for her faith, humility, and devotion to family.
“In line with Islamic tradition, funeral prayers (Jana’iza ) were held today at the National Mosque, Abuja, after which she was interred at Gudu Cemetery, Abuja.
“She is survived by six children among whom are Zainab Musawa, Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties in Katsina State, Hajiya Hadiza Ali Special Assistant to the President and the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, among others.
“The Honourable Minister, staff of the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, and the Musawa family appreciate the outpouring of condolences and prayers from the Federal Government, colleagues, stakeholders in the creative industry, and well-wishers.
“May Almighty Allah grant Hajiya Fatima Binta Ladi Musa Musawa _Al-Jannah Firdaus_ and grant the family the fortitude to bear this loss. _Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un, ” it also added.
