The Forum of the National Youth Leaders of All Political Parties in Nigeria has given South Africans till the end of July to leave Nigeria on account of the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other African people in their country.

This was contained in a Press Conference addressed in Abuja today by Comrade Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu, National Youth Leader of APGA, and the Chairman, Forum of the National Youth Leaders of All Political Parties in Nigeria

The statement reads: “We, the members of the Forum of National Youth Leaders of all Political Parties in Nigeria have watched with utter disappointment how the Government of South Africa played down on this visible affront on African unity and solidarity.

“What is happening in South Africa today is not Xenophobia but Afrophobia. Africans attacking fellow Africans on African soil.

“South Africa is one country that has benefitted from Africa more than any other African country. In their dark days of apartheid, the whole Africa stood by them, especially Nigeria.

Immediately after independence on 1 October 1960, Nigeria joined the anti-apartheid movement and spent heavily sponsoring it. By October 1961, Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Jaja Ndubuisi Wachukwu, was already condemning apartheid at the floor of United Nations. We made South African problem the central part of our foreign policy.

“Nigeria established a Southern Africa Relief Fund, deducted from the salaries of Nigeria workers through what was called the Mandela Tax. This is the extent Nigeria sacrificed for South Africa. Today, what we get is Go Beck home, leave our countiriii.

“Today, South Africans are humiliating, harassing and embarrassing Nigerians with a short notice to leave their country so that they can kill them, claim their businesses, and loot their hard earned goods and properties.

“Yes, We are peaceful and law-abiding leaders of the Nigerian youths, but we must let the South Africans know that nobody is a custodian of madness. We are, therefore, giving South Africans living in Nigeria from today to the end of July 2026 to leave Nigeria to their country, or else they will see in Nigeria what Nigerians saw in South Africa. Enough is enough, ” it also added.
