Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), in collaboration with the Benue State Civil Protection Guards, have rescued a kidnapped victim during a swift security operation in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.

Security sources disclosed that the operation was carried out at about 4:00 a.m. on July 8 after troops stationed at Tor-Donga received credible intelligence on the abduction of a resident in Igyudu community.

Acting promptly on the information, the joint security team mobilised to the area, forcing the kidnappers to abandon their victim and flee into the surrounding bush on sighting the advancing troops.

The rescued victim was immediately evacuated to a medical facility for treatment and medical evaluation.

Military sources said troops have launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspects as part of ongoing efforts to apprehend those responsible and prevent further criminal activities in the area.

The successful rescue operation underscores the sustained commitment of Operation WHIRL STROKE and other security agencies to combating kidnapping and violent crimes across Benue State and neighbouring communities through intelligence-driven and rapid response operations.
