The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mr. Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, received a delegation from the Ife Traditional Council, representing His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on a courtesy visit to his office. This was contained in a statement signed by Mrs. Eno Olotu, FCAI, mnipr, Director, Press and Public Relations.

The visit was to congratulate the HCSF on his recent appointment and convey the Ooni’s goodwill and best wishes.

Receiving the delegation, Mr. Abel expressed his profound appreciation to His Imperial Majesty and the Ife Traditional Council for the thoughtful gesture. He acknowledged the historical and cultural significance of Ile-Ife as the cradle of Yoruba civilisation, as well as the important role of traditional institutions in preserving Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and promoting national cohesion.

The HCSF noted that the visit underscored the enduring role of traditional institutions as important stakeholders in Nigeria’s socio-cultural development, particularly in promoting peace, unity, cultural preservation and community development.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Civil Service to constructive engagement with traditional institutions in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He emphasised that improving public service delivery, strengthening governance and building resilient institutions require sustained collaboration, collective responsibility and a shared commitment to national development.

Mr. Abel also expressed special appreciation to the Ooni for his fatherly, inclusive and visionary leadership, commending His Imperial Majesty for his tireless contributions to the development and promotion of Nigeria’s interests both at home and in the diaspora.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Her Regal Majesty, Olori Dr. Temitope Enitan Ogunwusi, conveyed His Imperial Majesty’s warm regards to the HCSF and expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded the delegation.

Olori Ogunwusi described Mr. Abel as a purpose-driven and accomplished public servant and called on officers and staff of the Federal Civil Service to align with his vision and provide the support required for its successful implementation. She emphasised that sustainable institutional success can only be achieved through teamwork, unity of purpose and collective dedication.

She expressed confidence in the capacity of the HCSF to provide transformative leadership and further strengthen the Federal Civil Service in line with the aspirations of the present Administration.

Other members of the delegation included the Onifegunwa of Ifegunwa, Oba Adedire Adewole Solomon, and the Yeye Bobajiro Oodua, Dr. Yeye Afolashade Shona-Aluko.
