Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued seven kidnapped victims, including six female students of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, during a swift response operation in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The victims were rescued on the evening of September 21, 2026, after troops responded to a distress call reporting an attack on a commercial vehicle travelling from Kaduna to Katsina along the Daye–Malumfashi road.
According to the operational report, the prompt intervention of the troops forced the kidnappers to abandon their captives and flee the scene.
The rescued victims comprised six female students of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, and the male commercial driver. They were all found unhurt.
The victims subsequently underwent preliminary security profiling and medical evaluation before being handed over to designated officials for safe reunion with their families and the university authorities.
The latest rescue underscores the ongoing efforts by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt kidnapping and other criminal activities along major routes in the North-West.
