The Honourable Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd) OFR has reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s defence capabilities through innovation, technology and strategic partnerships. He stated this at the DELL Technologies programme with the theme: “Innovate with Data” on Tuesday, 13th October, 2026 at Transcorp Hilton Abuja. This was contained in a statement signed by Enderline Chukwu, DD, Information and Public Relations.
In his speech the Honourable Minister who was represented by his Senior Special Adviser on Technology and Innovation, Air Vice Marshal Bulus informed that the Ministry’s vision is anchored on three operational pillars namely; enhancing operational joint synergy; improving the welfare and morale of Armed Forces personnel; and promoting intelligence driven and technology enabled defence.
According to him, the third pillar remains very critical in positioning Nigeria’s defence sector for the future as modern security challenges require the effective integration of technology, intelligence and innovation. He noted that the Ministry of Defence is taking deliberate steps to leverage on emerging technologies through partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including taking a lead in hosting a two-day Ministry of Defence technology workshop in collaboration with DELL Technologies.
Gen. Musa explained that the collaboration with DELL Technologies reflects the Ministry’s commitment to working with credible private sector partners with proven global expertise and a demonstrated commitment to local content development, adding that local participation and indigenous capacity building remain essential to achieving sustainable growth in Nigeria’s defence industry.
While extending a goodwill to all participants, the Honourable Minister expressed optimism that the knowledge gained, partnerships established and outcomes from the workshop would contribute significantly to strengthening capabilities of the Ministry in advancing Nigeria’s national security.
The event climaxed with a brief presentation on the deliverables of DELL Technologies vis-a-vis synergy with the Ministry. The presentation highlighted that DELL Technologies offers a unified solution, a one stop shop solution, as well as an end to end platform that will enable the Ministry to respond swiftly on missions.
