The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has informed the public of a planned outage at the Nsukka–New Haven 132kV Transmission Substation from 5th to 10th November 2026 to enable its contractor conduct SCADA pre-commissioning tests on substation equipment. This was contained in a statement signed by the Management of TCN.
The statement reads: “The outage will be carried out in phases over a 4-day period. Consequently, power interruptions will be limited to areas directly affected by the work at any given time, while other areas will continue to receive bulk electricity supply.
“Please note that there will be no outage on Sunday, 8th November 2026, and Tuesday, 10th November 2026 as the work continues.
“During the exercise, MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) will be unable to supply electricity to customers served by the Nsukka 132kV Substation, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the Orba and Sumas 33kV feeders on the affected days.
“TCN apologizes for any inconvenience this planned outage will cause customers in the affected areas, ” it also added.
