The Federal Ministry of Regional Development had the honour of welcoming the Honourable Members of the House of Representatives Committee on Regional Development to its headquarters. Led by the Chairman, Hon. Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu, the committee, visited the ministry to extend congratulations to the Minister of State for Regional Development and to reaffirm their commitment to collaboration and support for the ministry’s mission. According to the statement, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Regional Development, Dr. Shauib Belgore expressed his appreciation to the committee members for their dedication to public service. He emphasized the importance of the legislative-executive partnership in achieving sustainable regional development and assured the committee of the ministry’s openness to constructive engagement and shared goals.
During the visit, Hon. Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu, on behalf of the committee, congratulated the Minister of State on his appointment and reiterated the committee’s readiness to support the Ministry’s programs and initiatives. He commended the Ministry’s efforts to promote equitable regional growth and assured the Minister of the committee’s ongoing collaboration to ensure impactful reforms.
In response, the Honourable Minister of State for Regional Development, H.E. Uba Maigari Ahmadu expressed delight over the courtesy visit, describing it as a testament to the shared vision and partnership in advancing regional development across Nigeria. He said, ‘the Ministry is committed to the fair and equitable distribution of resources among the regions’.
The visit underscores the unity of purpose between the ministry and the House Committee on Regional Development, paving the way for stronger synergies in policy formulation and implementation to benefit all regions of the country.
