The National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC) under the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has strengthened its partnership with the United States following a high-level engagement with a visiting delegation from the US Department of State on Tuesday.
The National Coordinator of the NCTC, Major General Adamu Garba Laka, on Tuesday received the delegation led by Riley M. Barnes, the Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labour.
During the meeting, the discussions centred on areas where the United States can further support Nigeria through training, technical assistance, and strategic partnership.
NCTC officials later joined the US delegation for a group photograph, symbolising the shared commitment of both countries to strengthening global and regional security while upholding democratic values and human-rights standards.
The visit underscores the continued collaboration between Nigeria and the United States in tackling emerging security threats and promoting rule-of-law-based counterterrorism efforts.
