On the eve of Christmas, Tuesday, 24th December 2025, the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc., conducted a strategic operational tour of selected border and fringe communities within the FCT as part of proactive measures to ensure a peaceful and secure Christmas celebration across the Territory. This was contained in a statement signed by SP. Josephine Adeh, anipr, mipra, Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Police Command, Abuja.

The patrol covered key border and fringe communities, including Kawu, which comprises about 36 villages. During the visit, the Commissioner of Police engaged extensively with the District Head of Kawu, HRH Abdulrahman Dan Juma Ali, as well as other notable stakeholders, to assess the local security situation and strengthen collaboration at the grassroots level. The CP also visited Igwu, Tokolo, Pannannake, Kaudashi, Kikumi, Sabon Kawu, Karaku, Gaba, and Zuma I and II villages.

The operational patrol was aimed at reassuring residents of the Command’s readiness to protect lives and property, enhancing police visibility in border communities, deterring criminal elements, and reinforcing intelligence-led policing ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities. CP Dantawaye emphasized the importance of community cooperation, timely information sharing, and sustained vigilance, particularly in communities that share borders with neighbouring states.

The Commissioner of Police further directed officers and men deployed to these areas to remain alert, professional, and responsive to the needs of the public while sustaining aggressive patrols and surveillance throughout the festive period. He also urged residents to remain law-abiding and to promptly report any suspicious activities or movements to the nearest police station or through the FCT Police Command emergency lines: 08032003913, 08061581938.
