Minister of Interior Commission’s New Facilities to Boost Staff Welfare

As part of an effort to enhance the productivity of staff of the Ministry, the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has commissioned a standard fully equipped clinic, three electric motorcycles, a standard gym with creche, and a 500 KVA generator to ensure constant power supply to the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja.This was contained in a statement signed by Ozoya Imohimi, Director, Information and Public Relations.

The provision of these new facilities is in line with Pillar Six of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP-25), focusing on improving the welfare and well-being of civil servants.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, while conducting the Minister round the projects, said the gym is named, “Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo Wellness Centre”, in recognition of the Minister’s contributions, adding that the facility is set to enhance the fitness and productivity of staff. The centre includes a creche, which was established to support nursing mothers in caring for their children while at work.

Also at the commission ing, the Staff Union Chairman, Comrade Ukpenatus Eteng Bassey, appreciated the Minister and management for procuring a Toyota Coastal bus for the Orozo route, which he said will ease transportation challenges for staff living in that area.

“The commissioning of these facilities marks a significant milestone in the Ministry’s efforts to prioritize the welfare of its staff and improve their working conditions,” he said .
