The Anambra State Police Command has continued with its ongoing administrative and operational activities aimed at strengthening professionalism within the Command. This was contained in a statement signed by SP. Ikenga Tochukwu, Police Public Relations Officer.
As part of these activities, the Command today, 10th March 2026, commenced the training and orientation of newly decorated Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP). The training is designed to equip the officers with the knowledge, leadership skills, and responsibilities required of senior officers within the Force.
The programme focuses on areas such as leadership and command responsibility, ethical policing and discipline, operational management, mess induction, and other necessary police duties expected of a senior officer.
At the same time, today marks Day 2 of the physical and credentials screening exercise for applicants of Anambra State origin seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as General Duty and Specialist Police Constables.
The exercise is intended to ensure that applicants meet the required physical fitness, professional standards, and operational readiness necessary for effective policing before recruitment into the Force.
To this end, the Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, mnips, PhD, noted that these activities form part of the broader efforts by the Command to enhance efficiency, professionalism, and service delivery to the public.
