The newly appointed Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP (Prof.) Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, has read riot acts to criminals in FCT. He also pledged a firm crackdown on criminal activities, declared that crime would have no place under his leadership.

Addressing journalists during his inaugural press briefing, Sanusi expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for entrusting him with the role. He described his appointment as a mark of confidence and assured residents of his commitment to diligent and professional service.

The Commissioner stated that he has officially taken over leadership of the Command and intends to build on the achievements of his predecessor while introducing new strategies to strengthen the territory’s security framework.

Sanusi emphasized that his administration will adopt a proactive, intelligence-driven, and professional policing approach aimed at not only responding to crime but also preventing it before it occurs. He warned that the Command would be relentless in identifying and apprehending criminal elements across the FCT.

He also issued a strong directive to officers and personnel of the Command, stressing that indiscipline and unprofessional conduct would not be tolerated. According to him, officers must maintain civility in their interactions with the public and uphold the highest standards in the discharge of their duties.

In a stern message to criminals, the Police Commissioner warned those engaged in unlawful activities to desist immediately or leave the FCT or face decisive legal consequences.

Sanusi further called on residents to support law enforcement efforts, noting that security is a shared responsibility. He reiterated his commitment to an open-door policy, encouraging the public to provide useful information and collaborate with the Police in maintaining safety across the territory.

He assured residents that the FCT Police Command remained dedicated to protecting lives and property while fostering a secure environment for all.
