Troops of Sector 2, 8 Division, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have neutralised two suspected terrorists and recovered weapons during a successful offensive operation in Kebbi State.

Our sources disclosed that the troops made contact with the terrorists around Sabarumawa in Kebbi State while conducting a clearance operation aimed at denying criminal elements freedom of action in the area.

Following a fierce exchange of gunfire, the troops overpowered the terrorists, killing two of them, while others fled with varying degrees of injuries.

Items recovered from the scene include two AK-47 rifles, nine AK-47 magazines, some rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, and one motorcycle believed to have been used by the fleeing terrorists.

The operation is part of the ongoing offensive by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt their logistics, and restore peace and security across the North-West region.

Military authorities have reiterated their commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against terrorist groups and urged residents to continue providing credible intelligence to support ongoing security efforts.
