Troops of the Nigerian Army under Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued two kidnapped persons during a search operation around Bagega in Zamfara State.

The operation was conducted on October 26, 2026, following reports of suspicious movements by terrorists in the Bagega general area.

According to military sources, the troops swiftly mobilised and launched a search operation, leading to the successful rescue of the victims, identified as Shehu Chete, 40, and Bugu Bedi, 25, both from Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The rescued victims were immediately evacuated for medical attention and are currently receiving necessary care.

The Army said troops remain deployed in the area to ensure public safety and prevent further criminal activities.

It added that the situation remains under control, while operations continue to deter criminal elements and protect residents.
