The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has informed the public that it has completed the reconstruction of three collapsed 132kV transmission towers, T78, T79 and T80, and restored the Karu–Keffi–Akwanga Transmission Line. This was contained in a statement signed by the Management of TCN.

The statement reads: “The reconstruction was completed at 5:31pm on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, restoring the transmission pathway serving the 132/33kV Keffi and Akwanga Transmission Stations.

“The towers had collapsed on 7 October 2026 following heavy rainfall and strong winds. TCN’s maintenance crew worked diligently to reconstruct them and restore the affected line.

“TCN remains committed to maintaining and strengthening its transmission infrastructure to ensure the reliable and efficient transmission of bulk electricity across the country, ” it also added.
