The Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) Anambra State Chapter has stepped up efforts to enhance officers’ welfare and strengthen security/community relations through free skill training and empowerment initiatives. This was contained in a statement signed by SP. Ikenga Tochukwu, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command.
The training, which started today, 16th February 2026, has participants drawn from the Anambra Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) and some women from communities in the State. The trainees are to learn different skills, including baking, catering services, natural species production, and others aimed at promoting self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and economic stability among Police families and residents.
The Acting Chairperson, POWA Anambra Mrs Eno Mantu, notes that at the end of the training, the participants are expected to be empowered with various skills and equipment, which would serve as a morale booster and family support for Police Officers and other members of the wider community in the State.
Anambra POWA is reinforcing the critical link between officers’ well-being and effective policing. The association emphasised that sustainable security is best achieved when officers and the communities they serve work together.
