The All Progressives Congress (APC) has presented Bola Oyebamiji a Certificate of Return as its candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
During the presentation ceremony, Bola Oyebamiji pledged to reclaim the state from the Peoples Democratic Party.
The certificate was presented to Oyebamiji by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja after he emerged as the party’s flagbearer through consensus at the governorship primary held in Osogbo.
In his address to journalists, Yilwatda said Oyebamiji’s emergence by affirmation showed unity within the party, adding that all nine aspirants agreed to present a single candidate.
His words: “A brand new candidate has emerged for the party in the 2026 Osun State governorship election, and it was by consensus, which is unique compared to all other political parties.
“The nine candidates came together and picked one of them to represent them in the election. It shows the level of symbiosis and the good relationship between the candidates.”
According to Yilwatda, the party would mobilise its structures to ensure victory in Osun in 2026.
He said: “The party is ready to stand with Osun people, neck to neck, leg to leg. We will stand by them day and night from now until the day of the election to ensure that APC wins Osun State and also wins convincingly. ”
In his speech after receiving the certificate, Oyebamiji described the governorship race as a serious assignment, saying the APC was prepared to take over power from the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Oyebamiji said: “I want to assure you that the people of Osun are ready for the APC to take the mantle of power from the dancing government.
“The business of governance is a serious business, and we have a lot of human assets. We have a lot of material assets in the state of Osun, and we need a serious manager to drive those assets.”
Oyebamiji thanked the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him, adding, “Now that I have that mandate, we are going to carry that mandate, and come 2026, we are going to deliver Osun.”
