The Minister was warmly received by the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji, alongside key members of the Ekiti State Government. During the inspection, the Minister commended the state-of-the-art facilities and the airport’s international-standard runway, which positions it as a hub for agro-cargo and emerging passenger operations.

The recent approval by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for non-schedule passenger operations marks a significant milestone in the airport’s development.

Coincided with the Honourable Minister’s visit was the celebration of his 55th birthday, the Governor eulogised the Minister and expressed gratitude for his unwavering commitment to aviation.

The Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport is strategically positioned to support Nigeria’s non-oil export strategy, providing farmers and exporters with seamless access to international markets. With its operational advancements and continued support from the Federal Government, the airport is set to become a catalyst for socio-economic development.

The Honourable Minister’s visit reaffirms the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development’s dedication to creating a robust and inclusive aviation ecosystem that supports both cargo and passenger operations.
