The National Vice chairman (South South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief (Hon.) Victor Giadom has mourned the late Chief Daniel Osi Orbih. This was contained in a statement signed by him, The statement reads: “I am deeply saddened by the passing of my brother, compatriot and dear friend, Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, a distinguished chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and an illustrious son of the Etsako Nation in Edo State.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, Mrs. Florence Orbih; his children, Ms. Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr. Mildred Omonemi Orbih; his siblings; and the entire Orbih family. May God grant the family the strength, comfort and fortitude to bear this profound loss.
“Chief Orbih was not merely a political associate; he was a brother and compatriot with whom I shared a long, fond and deeply cherished history. His warmth, courage, wisdom, generosity of spirit and commitment to public service left an enduring impression on all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
“He was also a critical stakeholder in the cross-party political movement, the “Rainbow Coalition,” championed by His Excellency, Nyesom Wike, through which we worked closely and assiduously in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections. His contributions to that effort reflected his political sagacity, commitment and willingness to build bridges beyond partisan lines in the larger interest of Nigeria.
“Beyond politics, Chief Orbih was a man whose contributions to humanity and society earned him numerous prestigious traditional titles, including The Kulukulu 1 of Ogoni Land, The Oduma of Uzairue, The Agbokhaivho II of Avianwu Clan, Enakhaimhoi of Anegbete, Esama of Uromi, and Eze Oha 1 of Mburubu, among others. These honours reflected the profound respect, recognition and esteem he commanded across communities.
“With his passing, the Etsako Nation, Edo State and Nigeria have lost an illustrious son, a bridge-builder and a man of considerable courage, character and influence. His departure leaves a void that will be difficult to fill, but his remarkable memories and contributions to public life will remain indelible in the hearts of those who knew him.
“At this difficult moment, I pray that the Almighty God will receive his soul and grant him eternal rest. May God also comfort, strengthen and uphold his family, friends, political associates and all who mourn this great loss.
“Rest in peace, my brother and compatriot. Your memory will remain cherished, and you will be deeply missed, ” it also added.
