The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) stand at the 2026 International Civil Service Conference (ICSC), holding at the Eagle Square, Abuja, saw thousands of visitors paying glowing tributes and making enquiries about the Agency’s technological innovations and products on display.
The two-day conference and exhibition which is its second edition with the theme: Reforms, Resilience and Results, held May 20-21, 2026, was organized by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), and brought together global public sector leaders, policymakers, and reform practitioners.
Visitors thronged NASENI’s stand making enquiries about some of the products exhibited such as NASENI Laptop, Energy efficient Cookstoves and Powerstoves, HatchBox, Lithium battery, Solar Irrigation System, Mobile Science Kits, among others.
Assistant Chief, Technology Business Development (TBD) Department, NASENI, and team lead at the event, Mr. Edward Abaver stated that visitors expressed delight at what NASENI is doing in terms of innovations in local manufacturing towards the industrialisation of the country.
He pointed out that some of the visitors urged the agency to source for local raw materials so as to make the products more accessible and affordable. “Some visitors identified the irrigation pump as a game changer that will enhance food security and sustainability.”
Director, General Services, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, (OHCSF) commended NASENI for its innovations, and commended the ‘Nigeria First Policy’ saying “When the government encourages local production and patronage, it will reduce import and we will have more jobs for the young ones.”
Also, speaking, Engineer Wakili Adamu Saidu, from the Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, who was impressed to see the NASENI laptop, said “Nigeria has the capacity, talents and resources to do local manufacturing,” he stated.
The 2026 International Civil Service Conference (ICSC) saw President Bola Tinubu represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume who extolled Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack for the digital revolution and unprecedented reforms in the federal civil service in the last eleven months.
