The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has initiated a far-reaching internal reform process aimed at strengthening institutional discipline, deepening professionalism, and reinforcing a culture of respect and service excellence across all Commands of the Corps. This was contained in a statement signed by Olusegun Ogungbemide, mni, FISPON, anipr, Assistant Corps Marshal, Corps Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps Headquarters, Abuja

According to the statement, this proactive directive mandates the immediate deployment of the Corps Management Team to Field Commands nationwide for a structured retreat and reorientation programme. The engagement is designed to recalibrate operational standards, enhance productivity, and decisively address all forms of incivility and unprofessional conduct toward members of the public.

It further stated: “The Corps Marshal has made it unequivocally clear that the Corps will not tolerate any behaviour that undermines public trust or compromises its statutory mandate.

“The nationwide engagement will focus on strengthening ethical compliance, improving supervisory accountability, standardizing enforcement protocols, and embedding a citizen centred approach in all operational activities. Commanding Officers have been directed to institutionalise renewed performance benchmarks and ensure strict adherence to the Corps’ code of conduct at all levels.

“In addition, the Management Team will interface directly with critical stakeholders and members of the public to obtain constructive feedback on service delivery and operational conduct.

“This strategic engagement is another proof of the Corps Marshal’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

“To this end, personnel found culpable of misconduct, abuse of authority, or actions capable of bringing the Corps into disrepute will face firm and immediate disciplinary action in accordance with established regulations.

“The Corps Marshal also reiterated that FRSC remains resolute in its mission to deliver professional, humane, and efficient road safety services to all Nigerians. This reform initiative marks a decisive step toward consolidating discipline within the ranks and strengthening public confidence in the Corps as a responsive and people oriented institution, ” it also added.
