On the 31st of December 2025, the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, conducted an extensive operational patrol of Karshi, Kurudu, Karu Bakin Uza and Karufe Hill in Nasarawa mountain corridors which were previously identified as routes and hibernation points exploited by armed attackers, as part of sustained efforts to strengthen security across vulnerable locations.
This was contained in a statement signed by SP. Josephine Adeh, anipr, mipra, Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Police Command, Abuja.

The statement reads: “During the tour in Karu, the Commissioner of Police paid a brief courtesy visit to the palace of HRH Joseph Danfulani Narai (JP), the Sa Karuyi of Karu, FCT, where he emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between traditional institutions, community leaders and security agencies. He urged residents to support ongoing security operations within the area by providing timely information to the Police.

“The CP thereafter inspected operational deployments across the mountainous terrains of Karshi, Kurudu, Karu, Bakin Uza and Karufe Hill in Nasarawa, where he assessed personnel deployment aimed at maintaining effective control of the area, which also serves as a border between the FCT and Nasarawa State.

“While interacting with officers deployed to the area, CP Dantawaye commended their commitment and resilience, encouraged them to remain vigilant, and assured them of his full support to enable the effective discharge of their duties.

“This patrol forms part of the CP’s ongoing strategy to assess security deployments in difficult terrains and flashpoints within and around the FCT. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious persons or activities to the FCT Police Command through the emergency lines: 08032003913, 07057337653, ” it also added.
