The ongoing skills acquisition training organised by the Anambra State Chapter of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) for its members and selected Ndi Anambra women has recorded remarkable progress, as participants continue to benefit from intensive learning and empowerment sessions at the Anambra POWA Skills Acquisition Centre, Ukpo, Dunukofia. This was contained in a statement signed by SP. Ikenga Tochukwu, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command.

The programme continues to feature a wide range of activities, including practical lessons, hands-on skills development, experience-sharing, and capacity-building. Participants reported improved skills, renewed bonding, strengthened friendships, greater exposure, and the acquisition of innovative ideas to enhance personal and community development.

A major highlight of the programme was the visit of the Pioneer Force Medical Director, Nkechi Eze, Assistant Inspector-General of Police, as well as the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, and other reputable resource persons who engaged and encouraged participants during the sessions.

The Anambra POWA, led by the Acting Chairperson, Dr (Mrs). Eno Chongs Mantu, Fwapcmils, FCAI, mini reaffirmed its commitment to reinforcing the critical link between officers’ well-being and family support systems. She emphasised that empowering officers’ spouses and women in the community remains a strategic component of strengthening community policing and enhancing the State’s overall security architecture.

The initiative continues to demonstrate the Command’s dedication to capacity building, family support, and community-driven development.
