Eight of the fourteen associations pre-qualified by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register as political parties have successfully completed the upload of all required information and documents on the Commission’s dedicated portal. This was contained in INEC Daily Bulletin, Volume 2 of October 31, 2025.

The associations are the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), Citizens Democratic Alliance (CDA), Abundance Social Party (ASP), African Alliance Party (AAP), Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA), Green Future Party (GFP), National Democratic Party (NDP) and the Peoples Freedom Party (PFP).

This was disclosed in a statement by National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Mr. Sam Olumekun, mni, following the Commission’s regular meeting held on Thursday, 30th October 2025, in Abuja.

According to Mr. Olumekun, the update follows INEC’s earlier announcement on 11th September 2025 and a subsequent briefing for the 14 pre-qualified associations held on 17th September 2025. After the briefing, the Commission opened its online portal for the upload of necessary documents from 18th September to 18th October 2025 at midnight.

The IVEC Chairman explained that the next stage of the registration process is the detailed assessment and verification of the information and documents submitted by each association to ensure compliance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2022, and the Commission’s Regulations and Guidelines for Political Parties (2022).

He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and the deepening of Nigeria’s democratic culture, stressing that every stage of the process will be guided by due diligence and fairness.
