The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has released the dates and designated centres for the 2026 Directorate Level Promotion Examination, in accordance with Circular Ref. No. FC.6243/GOV/2026/VOL.III/22 dated 8 September 2026, signed by the Hon. Chairman, Prof. Tunji Olaopa. The circular informs all accredited candidates of the scheduled dates for the Local and Foreign Legs of the examination. The Commission has advised all candidates to carefully note the examination date indicated on their examination cards and report to their designated venues by 7:00 a.m. prompt.
The Local Leg of the 2026 Directorate Level Promotion Examination will hold from Monday, 21st to Wednesday, 23rd September 2026, for candidates across all applicable Grade Levels.
The examination will be conducted across the six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with designated centres in Lafia, Nasarawa State (North Central); Kaduna, Kaduna State (North West); Bauchi, Bauchi State (North East); Port Harcourt, Rivers State (South South); Ibadan, Oyo State (South West); Enugu, Enugu State (South East); and Abuja, FCT (Federal Capital Territory/Headquarters).
Candidates are expected to sit for the examination at the venue specifically indicated on their examination ID/card. The Commission therefore urges all accredited candidates to verify their examination details ahead of time and make adequate arrangements to arrive at their respective centres early to avoid any inconvenience.
The Commission has further notified candidates that the Foreign Leg of thye examination is scheduled for Saturday, 10th October 2026, with centres in Ottawa, Canada; London, United Kingdom; Beijing, China; and Cairo, Egypt, as indicated in the official timetable.
The Federal Civil Service Commission reiterates its commitment to ensuring a transparent, orderly and credible promotion examination process and calls on all concerned Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Permanent Secretaries, Accounting Officers and Chief Executive Officers to ensure that the contents of the circular are brought to the attention of all affected officers for strict compliance.
