FCT Police Command Continues National Police Day 2026 Activities With Community Engagement in Lugbe Area of FCT

In continuation with the scheduled activities marking the forthcoming National Police Day celebration slated for 7th April 2026, the FCT Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD, fcai, on 1st April 2026, carried out a community engagement exercise in Lugbe Community, Abuja. This was contained in a statement signed by SP. Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Police Command, Abuja.

The statement further stated: “The Commissioner of Police was joined by a delegation from the Force Headquarters, led by the Chairman, National Planning Committee for the National Police Day Celebration 2026, AIG Akor Gabriel Benedict, alongside other senior officers who are members of his committee and the FCT Police Command. The engagement brought together community leaders, youths, and key stakeholders in an interactive session aimed at strengthening police-community relations.

“During the engagement, AIG Akor Gabriel Benedict emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding among residents, urging members of the community to continue to uphold unity and support security efforts within their locality.

“In his address, the Commissioner of Police FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD. spoke extensively on the dangers of electoral violence and its far-reaching negative impact on society. He cautioned residents, particularly the youth, against allowing themselves to be induced by non-state actors to perpetrate any form of electoral violence. The CP also highlighted the importance of responsible road use, urging motorists to adhere to safe driving practices and avoid driving under the influence of intoxicants, noting that such behavior often leads to avoidable accidents with severe consequences.

“The community members, in response, expressed appreciation to the Police for the initiative, describing the engagement as timely and impactful. They also used the opportunity to share their concerns and pledged continued cooperation with security agencies.

“The FCT Police Command reiterates its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and calls on members of the public to remain vigilant and security conscious while encouraging them to promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the Command through its emergency numbers: 08032003913, 08061581938, ” it also added.
