FG Redeploys 16 Permanent secretaries in Federal Civil Service

The Federal Government of Nigeria has redeployed 16 serving permanent secretaries after approval by President Bola Ahmed.
The redeployment, which cut across various ministries and agencies, was announced in a circular dated 19 November 2025, signed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack.

The redeployment took effect immediately from 19 November, with the directive that the handover and takeover processes be completed on or before 26 November 2025. This move is part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and service delivery by strategically repositioning senior civil servants.

The Permanent secretaries redeployed include Funsho Adebiyi, who moves from Works to Transportation; Ibrahim Kana, from Aviation and Aerospace Development to the General Services Office (OSGF); and Yakubu Kofarmata, from Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction to Aviation and Aerospace Development. Nko Esuabana was redeployed to the Ministry of Women Affairs from the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, while Richard Pheelangwa was moved from Water Resources and Sanitation to Defence.

Raymond Omachi shifts from Special Duties to the Finance Ministry. Deborah Odoh was redeployed from the Service Policies and Strategies Office (OHCSF) to Budget and Economic Planning, while Olubunmi Olusanya moves fromYouth Development to Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

Also, Emeka Vitalis Obi was redeployed from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources to the Federal Civil Service Commission. Likewise, Fatima Mahmood was moved from Career Management Office (OHCSF) to Marine and Blue Economy to understudy Olufemi Oloruntola.

Smilarly, Emanso Umobong was redeployed from Cabinet Affairs Office (OSGF) to Water Resources and Sanitation and Maryam Keshinro from Women Affairs to Youth Development.

Also, Ndiomu Ebiogeh has been redeployed from the Federal Civil Service Commission to Innovation, Science and Technology; Nadungu Gagare from Economic & Political Affairs (OSGF) to Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy; Oyekunle Nwakuso from Service Welfare Office (OHCSF) to Petroleum Resources; and Adeladan Olarinre from Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy to Works.

According to the statement, the redeployment reflects the administration’s commitment to enhancing operational efficiency, promoting innovation, and ensuring effective service delivery in line with the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and strategic governance objectives.
