Flooding in the Niger Delta: FG continues with the distribution of Palliatives to the affected areas by the Ministry of Regional Development

The Ministry of Regional Development has announced the continuation of its palliatives distribution programme to flood victims in Delta State. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to those affected by the recent flooding in the region. Recall that the Ministry of Regional Development in association with the Federal government was in Rivers and Bayelsa States for palliatives distribution last month. A press release from the Ministry stated that the Permanent Secretary Dr. Shauib Belgore, who went to another official assignment, delegated his technical assistant, Dr Nasamu Oluwatoyin Yakub, who unveiled the items, which include bags of rice ,bags of beans , grinding machines , and so many others. He stressed that the federal government is committed to providing relief and support to all flood victims in Delta State and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that all affected communities receive the necessary assistance .

In his speech, Mr Ndiomu Ebiogeh Philip, Director in charge of the project , who represented the Honourable Minister, Engr. Momoh stated that the items supplied are at the instance of the deep love and concern of Mr. President for the people of the Niger Delta over the damages caused by the recent flood in the region.
Mr. Ndiomu further said that the items distributed are expected to cushion the devastating effects of the flood on the lives and livelihoods of the people.

Present at the occasion were government officials and community leaders .
