The Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bar. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Esq., is currently attending the 2025 International Bar Association (IBA) Annual Conference taking place in Toronto, Canada, from 2nd to 7th November, 2025, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. This was contained in a statement signed by Abdullahi A. Mohammed, SA (Media) to the Honourable Minister of State for Works.

The annual global event brings together over 5,000 legal professionals, including lawyers, policymakers, corporate leaders, and representatives of bar associations from more than 130 countries, to deliberate on emerging issues in law, governance, and justice.

The Honourable Minister, attending in his personal and professional capacity as a long-standing member of the Bar—alongside other distinguished Nigerian participants, including the Honourable Attorney General and Minister of Justice—joins the global legal community in discussions that advance the principles of justice, rule of law, and ethical governance.

The conference, themed around diverse legal and governance issues—including access to justice, law-firm management, arbitration, ESG, and digital transformation—serves as the world’s largest platform for legal networking and knowledge exchange.

In the course of the sessions, discussions have focused on “Democracy in Crisis: The Role of Access to Justice” and “Leading with Resilience: Empowering Women Litigators in Uncertain Times.” The Honourable Minister’s participation highlights his continued commitment to professional development, legal excellence, and the integration of sound governance principles in public administration.

Rt. Hon. Bar. Goronyo, a dedicated member of the legal profession, continues to exemplify the link between law and governance—demonstrating how strong legal and institutional frameworks support effective policy implementation and national development.

As the conference progresses, the Honourable Minister is expected to interact with peers, legal experts, and policymakers on global best practices that can strengthen institutional accountability and enhance ongoing reforms in the Works sector.
