The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Tuesday, 21st April 2026, paid a strategic courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Abuja, as part of efforts to deepen inter-agency cooperation in internal security operations.
He was received by the Commandant-General of the Corps, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi.
During the visit, the IGP emphasized the importance of enhanced synergy among security agencies, noting that effective coordination remains critical to addressing emerging threats and maintaining national stability.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthening partnerships with sister agencies in the areas of intelligence-led policing and operational effectiveness.
In his response, CG Audi described the Nigeria Police Force as the lead internal security agency and commended the IGP for what he described as a historic first visit by a sitting Inspector-General of Police to the NSCDC Headquarters, which he said demonstrates strong commitment to collaboration.
He also acknowledged the sustained support of the Police to the Corps and advocated for the establishment of a joint Fusion Centre between both agencies to enhance coordination in tackling evolving security challenges.
In a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, Abuja, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to building strong institutional partnerships with all security agencies in the collective effort to strengthen national security and ensure the safety of lives and property.
