In a system where morale often mirrors leadership, the Nigeria Police Force is sending a clear message that hard work now pays.

Since the appointment of IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun in June 2023, promotions have surged, signalling a renewed commitment to welfare, merit, and integrity within the Force.

An official summary from the Force Public Relations Department shows that 141,054 officers have been promoted across ranks within the period.

The breakdown highlights sustained progress year-on-year: 37,518 promotions in 2023, 29,184 in 2024, and a sharp rise to 74,352 in 2025.

Senior officers from ASP to AIG and rank-and-file personnel alike benefited from the exercise, reinforcing what police authorities describe as a culture that rewards diligence, professionalism, and service to the nation.

The development is being framed as part of broader reforms aimed at boosting morale, restoring confidence within the ranks, and strengthening professionalism across commands.
