The Fourth India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS IV), originally scheduled to take place in New Delhi from May 28–31, 2026, has been postponed due to an evolving health situation in parts of Africa.
The Government of India and the African Union (AU) announced the decision in a joint statement on Thursday, following consultations between Indian officials, the Chairperson of the African Union, and the African Union Commission.

According to the statement, the decision to reschedule was made to ensure the full participation of African leaders and stakeholders while remaining mindful of the public health situation on the continent. New dates for the summit and its associated meetings will be finalized through mutual consultations and announced at a later date.
Ahead of the postponement, both sides exchanged views on continental health preparedness. India reaffirmed its solidarity with African governments and expressed readiness to support Africa CDC-led efforts, underscoring its commitment to an Africa-led response to the health situation.

Despite the delay, both parties reaffirmed their longstanding partnership, noting that relations remain rooted in solidarity, mutual respect, South-South cooperation, and a shared commitment to development and prosperity.
