The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to Rocket Aviation Services, authorising the airline to commence non-scheduled flight operations in Nigeria after successfully meeting all regulatory and safety requirements.

Presenting the certificate at a ceremony held at the NCAA headquarters in Abuja on Monday, June 23, 2026, the Director-General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo described the achievement as a significant milestone for the airline and the country’s aviation industry.

Capt. Najomo noted that obtaining the AOC marked the beginning of the airline’s responsibilities, stressing that maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence remains paramount.

He urged Rocket Aviation Services to sustain a strong safety culture through strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), effective Crew Resource Management (CRM), timely reporting of safety concerns, and continuous collaboration among pilots and crew members.

The NCAA boss also commended the airline and the certification team for their dedication throughout the nearly two-year certification process, emphasizing that inspections, reviews, assessments, and continuous regulatory oversight are critical to ensuring accountability and safer skies.

Responding on behalf of the airline, Accounts Manager Bisola Yejide expressed appreciation to the NCAA management led by Capt. Najomo and the certification team for their guidance, professionalism, and commitment throughout the certification process.

She assured that Rocket Aviation Services would uphold the safety standards that earned it the certification, reaffirming the airline’s commitment to operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement in all aspects of its operations.
