The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has extended his warmest congratulations to His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, as the country celebrates her National Day. This was contained in a statement signed by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, anipr, Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.
The statement reads: “The National Day of the State of Qatar which is celebrated on the 18th of December commemorates the country’s rich history, national unity, and visionary leadership, reflecting the resilience and progress of the Qatari people in building a modern, prosperous, and influential nation. As Nigeria joins the Government and people of Qatar in marking this important occasion, we reaffirm our shared commitment to peace, stability, and constructive international engagement.
“Nigeria and the State of Qatar maintain cordial and mutually beneficial relations, strengthened through cooperation in trade, energy, investment, education, aviation, and humanitarian initiatives. Both countries also work closely within the United Nations and other multilateral frameworks to advance global peace, sustainable development, and south-south cooperation.
“On this auspicious occasion, Nigeria reiterates her readiness to further deepen bilateral relations with the State of Qatar, explore new areas of strategic partnership, and promote stronger people-to-people and economic ties for the mutual benefit of both nations.
“Nigeria once again conveys her warm felicitations to the Government and people of the State of Qatar, with sincere wishes for continued peace, prosperity, and national progress,” it also added.
