The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has extended Nigeria’s warm congratulations to His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, as the nation commemorates its Independence Anniversary.
The Minister said this anniversary represents the strength, resilience, and unity of the Qatari people in their journey toward sovereignty, progress, and prosperity.
“Nigeria joins Qatar in celebrating this historic occasion and reaffirms its commitment to mutual respect, cooperation, and global partnership.”
According to the statement by the Spokesperson of
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Nigeria, and Qatar enjoy longstanding and friendly relations, enhanced by collaboration in different sectors such as trade, transportation, education, energy and security.
Both countries also cooperate within the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and other international fora in the promotion of peace, development, and global security, the statement said.
“Nigeria reiterates its readiness to further deepen these valued ties and also explore new areas of cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations.
“Once again, Nigeria conveys her warmest felicitations to the Government and people of the State of Qatar, with best wishes for peace, prosperity, and national advancement.”
