Nigeria and Switzerland have held the 10th round of political consultations aimed at bolstering diplomatic relations between the two countries.
This was contained in a statement signed by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Sunday.
Ebienfa said, “The Nigerian delegation was led by the Director, Regions, Amb. Janet Olisa (OON), while the Swiss delegation was led by Amb. Philipp Stalder Director for Africa, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Swiss Foreign Ministry.
“Nigeria and Switzerland signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 8, 2016, regarding the establishment of an annual process of Nigeria-Switzerland Bilateral Consultations at the diplomatic level.
“This is a useful mechanism to strengthen relations between the two countries.
“Since then, the platform has become a viable medium for increased engagements and collaboration on bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest between the two friendly countries.
“The just-concluded consultations considered a wide range of issues such as trade and investment, legal cooperation, peace, security, and humanitarian matters, amongst others.”
