‎‎The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has approved the promotion of 523 staff members across various cadres in its 2025 promotion exercise.

‎According to Kayode Adegoke (PhD), Head of Corporate Communications, “the approval was granted by the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of NIMC, Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the provisions of the Public Service Rules.”

‎Adegoke disclosed that “two officers were promoted to the Director cadre (GL 17), eight to Deputy Director (GL 16), while 35 officers advanced to the Assistant Director level (GL 15).”

‎He added that “35 officers were elevated to Chief Identity Officer (GL 14), 109 to Assistant Chief Identity Officer (GL 13), 113 to Principal Identity Officer (GL 12), 82 to Senior Identity Officer (GL 10), and 130 to Identity Officer I (GL 9).”

‎Congratulating the promoted staff, Adegoke said the DG/CEO “charged them to view the promotion as an opportunity to serve the nation better while reiterating the Commission’s zero tolerance for extortion.”

‎He further stated that “the DG/CEO encouraged all staff to work harder in 2026 to ensure the successful implementation of the National Identification Number project, while reaffirming her commitment to staff welfare and the dignity of labour”.
