The Nigerian Upstream Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has alerted members of the public over fraudulent impersonation of its Chief Executive, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan on various social media platforms. This was contained in a statement signed by Eniola Akinkuotu, Head, Corporate Communications, and Media.
The statement reads: “The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) hereby issues this disclaimer, alerting the public to the activities of fraudulent individuals posing as the Commission Chief Executive, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, on various social media platforms.
So far, 15 of such fake accounts have been identified by the Commission on X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. The matter has also been reported to the appropriate authorities.
“For the sake of clarity, the NUPRC states that Mrs. Eyesan has only one social media account, which is a verified page on LinkedIn.
“The unscrupulous individuals impersonating the Commission Chief Executive with the intention of defrauding members of the public are hereby warned to desist immediately.
“Anyone who interacts with these fake accounts does so at his or her own risk. For inquiries or clarification on the NUPRC’s activities, visit the Commission’s official website www.nuprc.gov.ng, ” it also added.
