The Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Anambra State Chapter, today 14th January 2025 paid a Thank-You visit to the Anambra State Police Command in appreciation of the support and assistance received from the Command throughout the year 2025. This was contained in a statement signed by SP. Ikenga Tochukwu, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command.

The visit, was led by the Acting State Chairperson of POWA Mrs Eno Mantu, who expressed profound gratitude to the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD, and the entire Command leadership for their cooperation, encouragement, and logistic support that contributed to the successful execution of POWA programmes and welfare initiatives in the past year.

During the visit, the POWA leadership formally presented its Outline of Proposed Activities for the year 2026, which include welfare programmes for Police families, skills acquisition initiatives, health and educational support activities, community outreach, and advocacy aimed at supporting officers’ family and enhancing their stability.

The association also pledged continued collaboration and support to the Anambra State Police Command in promoting discipline, professionalism, and community-friendly policing. POWA reaffirmed its commitment to complementing the efforts of the Command through welfare-driven initiatives that will enhance the well-being of officers and their families.

In his response, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, commended POWA for its resilience, dedication, and impactful contributions to the welfare of police families and the wider community. He assured the association of the Command’s continued support and emphasized the importance of strong family support systems in boosting officers’ morale and operational effectiveness.

The visit was marked by presentation of gift to the Commissioner of Police, goodwill messages, cordial interactions, and renewed commitment to partnership, reflecting the harmonious relationship between the Anambra State Police Command and the Police Officers’ Wives Association.
