TCN Announces Maintenance at 330/132kV Gwagwalada Transmission Substation

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced to the public that an urgent maintenance exercise will be carried out at its 330/132kV Gwagwalada Transmission Substation on Wednesday, 2nd September, 2026, from 10 am to 1 pm. This was contained in a statement signed by the Management of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

The statement reads in part: “The three-hour exercise will enable TCN maintenance crew carry out urgent maintenance on the 33kV 6MVA earthing reactor at the Substation.

“Consequently, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take electricity to customers around Aso Villa, Asokoro, African Medical Center, Kabusa, EFAB Estate, Apo Resettlement, Zone E Extension, Trademoore, and adjoining areas.

“TCN apologizes for any inconvenience this will cause electricity customers in the affected areas, ” it also added.
