The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a two-day scheduled maintenance of the Katampe/Apo 132kV Transmission Lines 1 and 2 in Abuja.
TCN said the preventive maintenance exercise will take place on Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16, 2026, between 9am and 5pm each day.

According to the company, its line engineers will use the exercise to replace the Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) on Towers T120, T131 and T132 along the transmission line route.

The maintenance is expected to affect electricity supply to parts of Abuja, as the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take bulk electricity for distribution to customers in Asokoro, Garki 2, Lugbe, Airport, Barracks and surrounding communities during the exercise.

TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience the planned maintenance may cause.

The statement was signed by the Management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and dated August 14, 2026
