TCN Conduct Annual Maintenance on 132kV Katampe–Gwarimpa Transmission Line 1

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has informed the public that an annual maintenance exercise will be carried out at its 132/33kV Katampe 1 Transmission Substation on Tuesday, 8th September 2026, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. This was contained in a statement signed by the Management of TCN.

The statement reads: “The exercise will enable TCN maintenance crew carry out annual preventive maintenance on the 132kV Katampe–Gwarimpa Transmission Line 1 bay switchgear and associated equipment.

“Consequently, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take electricity to its customers in parts of Dawaki, Dutse Alhaji, Gwarinpa and environs; parts of Kubwa, Arab Road, Bwari, Mopol Barracks, parts of Jiwa and environs; Suleja Township, FCT College of Education, Field Base, Madalla, Zuba and environs.

“TCN apologizes for the inconvenience this power disruption will cause electricity customers in the affected areas, ” it also added.
