Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, in collaboration with operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, have foiled a bandit attack and rescued three kidnapped victims along the Dandume–Sheme Road in Katsina State.
The joint security team responded to a distress call from residents reporting terrorist activity along the route and swiftly deployed to the area.
On making contact with the attackers, the troops engaged them with superior firepower, forcing the bandits to flee into the surrounding bushes with reported gunshot wounds.
A subsequent search and clearance operation led to the rescue of three kidnapped victims identified as 58-year-old Mutairu Adamu, 25-year-old Yusufa Habibu and 22-year-old Aminu Musa.
The security forces also recovered two vehicles allegedly abandoned by the fleeing criminals. The vehicles have registration numbers FTA 702 XB and EPE 706 XB.
The rescued victims are currently receiving necessary care and undergoing assessment before being reunited with their families.
Security forces have maintained a heightened operational posture in the area to safeguard commuters and surrounding communities and prevent further attacks.
