Umahi Mourns Death of 1st Ebonyi State Military Administrator, Navy Captain Walter Feghabo( rtd), Sends Heartfelt Condolences

The Honourable Minister of Works, Sen. Engr. Nweze David Umahi CON has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the first Military Administrator of Ebonyi State, Navy Captain Walter Aye Feghabo (rtd) and the government of Ebonyi State on his death.

This was contained in a statement personally signed by the Honourable Minister himself. The statement reads: “I received with a deep sense of loss the sad news of the death of the first Military Administrator of Ebonyi State, Navy Captain Walter Aye Feghabo (Rtd.), whose unfortunate demise occurred on 19th October 2025 at the age of 69 years.

“The life and times of late Navy Captain Feghabo reflected the core values of his professional calling. He shall be remembered for his sense of courage and commitment to the Navy’s core leadership competencies, which is accomplishing the mission,leading the people, leading transformation,working with the people,and resource stewardship.

“These Naval attributes resonated in his leadership stewardship as the Military Administrator of Ebonyi State between October 1996 and August 1998 and as the Military Administrator of Delta State between August 1998 and May 1999. As the first Military Administrator of Ebonyi State, he provided foundational leadership and created a positive environment that inspired the growth, direction, stability, and sustainability of development by successive governments of Ebonyi State.

“My deepest condolences go to his family, the naval community, and the government and people of Bayelsa State on this monumental and irreplaceable loss of our highly valued statesman. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,Amen.

“Please accept the assurances of the compassionate considerations,esteemed regards, and best wishes of my family, the management and staff of the Federal Ministry of Works,” he also added.
